About Us

Lilian Ofoma is a talented chef with a heart full of passion for cooking. Born and raised in Nigeria, her culinary journey began in her childhood home, where her mom would spend hours cooking. As she watched her mom work magic in the kitchen she knew that she wanted to follow in her footsteps.

As she grew older, her interest in cooking deepened. She excelled in Home Economics in high school, and went on to study the subject in college. After graduating, she landed a job at Nigerian Airways, where foods were prepared and packaged for the passengers.

Her true passion has always been to start her own culinary business. So, when my family relocated to the United States, she saw an opportunity to turn her dream into a reality. In 2015, she enrolled at the Art Institute of Sacramento, where she earned an Associate degree in Culinary Arts.

Her path next led her to work for Aramak at Sac State University from 2023-2025 where she introduced Nigerian cuisine, popularizing Jollof rice and plantains on the current University menu.

Lilian is the proud owner of Lilyz Catering LLC , where she serves up delicious Nigerian cuisine to clients all over Northern California. She is known for her attention to detail and commitment to using only the freshest and most high-quality ingredients. With her ability to cater to small and large crowds, she has become a go-to chef for events and parties.

Lilian’s passion for cooking is contagious, and her love of Nigerian cuisine is evident in every dish that she creates. As she looks to the future, she is excited to continue growing her business and sharing her passion with the community. Her goal is to become a well-known Nigerian chef and to open her own restaurant, where she can share her love of cooking with a broader audience.
